Navajo Exchange Program

In 1998 Bob & Jane Toll, of Toll Industries, sponsored 40 underprivileged inner-city African American students, resourcing them however was required to get them into University and beyond.

As part of the project Jane sought a truly educational experience that would grow the students vision of them selves and what they were capable of.

After much searching she sources Interlocken who in turn flew Mark in from Australia to take the 40 inner-city African American students onto a Navajo Indian Reservation for three weeks.

This was the most unique program of its kind, mixing cultures and demographics while still running school and personal development classes on the trip.

Documented by ex 60minutes journalist Andy Taylor the trip was a launching pad for the next 6 years of sponsorship for the program.
